Amee Hicks sixth grade class got an ariel view of themselves and Sidney. West Elementary students got the chance to learn about Drones and see them in action last Monday.
Sixth grade students at West Elementary took advantage of the warmer fall temperatures last Monday and got the first hand opportunity to learn about drones.
A drone, in a technological context, is an unmanned aircraft. However they are more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles or unmanned aircraft systems.
Essentially, a drone is a flying robot. The aircrafts may be remotely controlled or can fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans in their embedded systems working in conjunction with onboard sensors and GPS.
