Nebraskan hunters get the opportunity to help feed the hungry by donating their deer to the Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) program.
The HHH program is a Nebraska Game and Parks program created by the Nebraska Legislature in April 2012. The program provides pure ground venison to Nebraskans in need.
According to the Neb. Game and Parks 2015 program report, there were 501 deer donated by 437 hunters. Resulting in 23,374 pounds of venison to be donated to the hungry.
Dennis Greve is the only meat processor in the Panhandle that aids the HHH program.
