Sidney's 10 and under Cal Ripken league baseball team came up short in state tournament play, but will still represent local baseball at the regional tournament in Scottsbluff July 24.
Sidney opened tournament play Friday with an 18-0 win over North Platte. Scottsbluff downed Sidney 12-2 Saturday, but the young team bounced back with a 15-5 win over Alliance.
Scottsbluff, which opened its tournament with a 10-0 win over Alliance prior to defeating Sidney, remained in control in the championship game.
