Margene Miller, 89 of Gurley, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, following a sudden illness.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, in the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Hall officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Tuesday to sign Margene's register book and drop off condolences for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margene's name to the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Margene M. Miller was born on Sept. 8, 1926 to Frank and Sara (Jennings) Meyer in Genoa. Margene earned her teaching certificate and move to Lodgepole to teach where she met and later married Clarence Miller in 1947. Margene spent most of the rest of her life in the Gurley area where she and Clarence farmed the family farm. They were active in the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church. Together they had five children, Barry of Longmont, Colo., Allen and wife Chris of Capitan, N.M., David of Fort Collins, Colo., Patti Scholz and husband Jim of Atchison, Kan. and Kurt of Gurley.
Margene is survived by her children, (9) grandchildren, (16) great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 2010, her parents, her siblings and a grandson.
