Western Nebraska Community College Theatre presents Stop Kiss by Diana Son Apr 29 - May 1 at the WNCC Little Theatre on the Scottsbluff Campus. Stop Kiss plays Apr 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. and on May 1 at 2 p.m. in the WNCC Little Theatre. Did you know 4 out of 5 Americans own bicycles? Are you one of those Americans? If so, please join the Cheyenne County Visitors Committee in a community presentation focusing on developing and promoting bicycle tourism in our area. It will cover the benefits of cycling tourism, how to cater and cyclists needs, upcoming trends in cycling and more. The presentation will be Monday, April 18, at 6 p.m., at the Cheyenne County Community Center located at 627 Toledo St. in Sidney and is open to the public. The Jr. Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, April 19, at the Sidney Public Library beginning at 5 p.m. This group welcomes youth 7th through 12th grade to assist in community projects. For more information, please call the library at (308) 254-3110 or come and visit our next meeting.

Saturday, April 23

The First United Methodist Church, along with the Sidney Police Department, is sponsoring a bike rodeo at the Legion Park Shelter House on April 23, from 9 to 11 am. Children can get their bike checked for the upcoming season and there will be a safety course they can ride.

Sunday, May 1

The Instrumental Music Program at Western Nebraska Community College will host its annual community dinner and dance, Jump, Jive & Swing, Sunday, May 1 at the Gering Civic Center. There will be a cash bar and dancing throughout the evening. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. for cocktails with music provided by the WNCC Jazz Combo under the direction of WNCC saxophone instructor Austin Sailors. Tickets can be purchased in the WNCC Business Office or by calling (308) 635-6020 during normal business hours. Seating is reserved and tickets are available through April 29.

A Parkinson’s support group for the western Nebraska area meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 312 W. 16th St., Alliance. Call Dee Brauninger at (308) 763-1254 with questions or email her at [email protected].
