1940 to 2016

Douglas N. Law, 75 of Dalton, passed away unexpectedly at the Sidney Regional Medical Center on Monday April 11, 2016. There will be no services. Doug's ashes will be inurned at the Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury, Ill. where his parents and grandparents rest.

Douglas Neil Law was born Oct. 30, 1940 in Pontiac, Ill., to Dr. and Mrs. Otis Law. Doug graduated from Pontiac Township High School and Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. Doug later came to Sidney to work for the Sidney Sun-Telegraph as sports reporter and photographer. He has worked for several other papers in West Virginia, British Columbia and Nevada prior to his move to Nebraska.

While in Canada, Doug became involved with precision target shooting with muzzle loading shotguns. Later he became an expert on air guns and collected air gun literature. He was passionate about automobiles and restored several older cars. His memory of gun and car statistics was encyclopedic.

Douglas is survived by his sister, Jane Sheridan (Leslie) of Sylvania, Ohio, a niece Anne Sheridan Fugard, nephew W. Alexander Sheridan and great nephews Ben Fugard and Max Fugard all of Cincinnati.
