Lorraine Gemmell, 91 of Sidney, and a longtime Ogallala resident, died Wednesday evening, April 6, 2016, at Sidney Regional Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, in the St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala with Father Bryan Ernest officiating. Burial will follow in the Ogallala Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with a rosary service to follow with Father Jim Heithoff officiating.

Lorraine J. Gemmell, the daughter of I.E. and Anna L. (Klein) Kaminski was born May 6, 1924 at St. Paul. The family moved to Brule in 1928, farming eight miles north of town. She attended grade school at District #46 and then Ogallala High School, graduating in 1942. She worked for the Keith County Co-Op until 1946.
On Octo. 1, 1946 she married her high school sweetheart, Jack Gemmell, at St. Luke's Catholic Church and to this union one daughter, Jane, was born. After Jane's graduation from high school, Lorraine went to work at the Keith County Bank until 1975.
Lorraine enjoyed golf, jig saw puzzles, her dogs, playing cards, and being a home maker.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Holechek and husband Jim of Sidney; and her brother Carl Kaminski and wife Judy of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 69 years Jack.
