South Platte NRD offers scholarships for summer camps

The South Platte NRD will be offering scholarships to the Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE) camp and Range camp, both to be held at the State 4-H camp in Halsey, Nebraska this coming June.

The ACE camp will be held June 12 – 15. The camp is for students who will have just completed 6th, 7th or 8th grade. While at the camp students will learn from experts in the fields of Forestry, Energy, Wetlands, Soils, Range, Water and Wildlife. The students will also have the opportunity to participate in archery, zipline, tanking, and tubing at the camp.

The 53rd Nebraska Youth Range Camp will be held June 6 – 10, 2016 at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp in Halsey.  Range Camp is for students between the ages of 14 – 18.  The camp consists of a four-and-a-half day dynamic curriculum that appeals to students with a wide array of interests including, but not limited to, rangeland management, conservation, ecology, animal science, and wildlife. The students that attend this camp will be actively involved with field activities, lectures, hands-on experience, and recreational leadership and team-building activities.

Both the ACE and Range Camps offer fun activities to keep the students busy while they learn about the outdoors.
