Myrna J. Mashek, 92 of Sidney, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She left this world surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, in the Sidney Church of Christ with Dustin Rocha officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Myrna's name to the church or the Sunol Community Center. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Myrna's care and funeral arrangements.
Myrna Jean Mashek, the daughter of William Allen and Minnie Bell (Mosely) Smith was born at Big Springs on January 15, 1924. She was the youngest of fourteen children. Myrna married Lorton Hodges and from this union four children were born. She later married Clarence Mashek and they had three more children. As her children grew, so did her family. Myrna had a heart of gold and cared not only for her family, but also her friends and neighbors. Her door was always open and everyone was welcome. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery.
Left to mourn are (4) sons: Quentin Hodges and wife Kathy, Clinton Hodges and wife Burna, Robert Hodges and wife Laurie and Ted Mashek and wife Jenny; (2) daughters: Terri Poley and Penny Borcher and husband Scott and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, (2) husbands, Lorton and Clarence (1) son: Clifford Hodges (1) grandson: Ken Hodges (1) granddaughter: Heather Hodges.
Myrna will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
