Several local pool players were recently recognized for winning the fall session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball and 9-Ball pool leagues.
Winning the Tuesday 8-Ball title was Bipoolers from Linger Longer in Lodgepole. Team members include Terry Klinetobe, Amy Bondegard, Steph Disney, Thai Nimmo, Lorie Rowley, Buda Bondegard, Cheri Long and James Bondegard.
Most valuable player awards went to Marcia Hajek, Jason Juracek and Steve Kadie.
Taking the Sunday 9-Ball title was Hillside Bar & Grill from Sidney. Team members include Ryan McElroy, Judy Morrison, Trent Glanz, Steve Kadie, Clint Kesselring, Stephanie Risk-McElroy, Jeff Turner and Shannon Barnes.
MVP awards went to Brandon Chaon, Nate Bartling and Steve Kadie.
Winning teams from each session advance to the Western Nebraska APA Team Championships to compete for trips to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas.
The APA Pool League offers its members the opportunity to enjoy some fun and friendly competition with friends, family and co-workers. The league uses a copyrighted handicap and scoring system that helps insure players of all abilities, including beginners, can compete regardless of level of skill or experience.
