Leyton avenged its loss to Bayard in the Minuteman Activities Conference Tournament with a 40-30 win on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors, who lost 32-27 to the Lady Tigers (5-15) in the MAC third place game, took the early lead Tuesday night and never let up. Leyton went up 15-9 in the first quarter and held a 22-18 lead at halftime. The Lady Warriors led 28-24 heading into the fourth quarter, when they outscored the visitors 12-6.
Diedra Waite had a double-double, with a team-high 11 points and 12 rebounds, to lead Leyton (10-7) on the night. Abbe Draper also chipped in with 10 points. Taylor Berne...
