Leyton’s second quarter dominance was the difference in a 47-34 win on Friday over visiting Creek Valley.
The Warriors (8-6) outscored the Storm (10-8) by a 19-3 margin in the second period to take a 31-15 halftime lead.
Skylar Schumacher had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Leyton in the game. Kenny Ernest added nine points and also pulled down 10 rebounds. Zach Hellie scored eight points while Martin Boyer added seven.
For Creek Valley, Brett Godfrey led the way with 16 points, while Colin Brott added 12.
Leyton’s game on Saturday against Potter-Dix was canceled due to a leak in the gym roof.
Creek Valley returns to play Tuesday by hosting Perkins County, while Leyton hosts Bayard on Tuesday.
Garden County 60, Potter-Dix 34
Potter-Dix fell behind early and dropped a 60-34 home game on Friday to Garden County.
The Coyotes (6-10) trailed 10-2 after the first quarter and 25-13 at halftime.
Cole Christensen led the team with 15 points, while Coby Hicks added nine points. Hicks added a team-high 12 rebounds.
Saturday’s game against Leyton was canceled due to a leak in the gym roof.
Potter-Dix returns to play Tuesday at Peetz, Colo.
Peetz 62, Briggsdale 34
Peetz 55, Weldon Valley 51
Peetz picked up a pair of weekend wins, taking a win on the road and at home.
The Bulldogs rolled to a 62-34 win at Briggsdale (1-15) on Friday. They wrapped up the weekend with a 55-51 home win against Weldon Valley (8-8).
Peetz improved to 11-5 on the season with the pair of wins.
The Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday with a home game against Potter-Dix.
