The City of Sidney is accepting Christmas trees in a parking lot in Legion Park off Toledo Street, past the former municipal swimming pool.
While many residents have already dropped off trees at the site, City Park Superintendent Tom Von Seggern said trees will be accepted for the next week.
Each year, he said, about 30-60 trees are collected.
The parks department grinds the trees into mulch, which is then placed around living trees in Legion Park.
