The Potter-Dix girls’ basketball squad stayed perfect on the season with a 4-0 overall record after taking down Creek Valley and Paxton over the weekend.
Potter-Dix has won its last three games by 20 or more points, and has seen a prodigious offensive output from its starting lineup, as well as a strong defensive output from the starting five
Potter-Dix 54, Creek Valley 20
The Lady Coyotes started out the weekend jaunt by beating the Creek Valley Lady Storm, 54-20, at home.
It was a close game in the first quarter as Creek Valley only trailed Potter-Dix 20-13 – but it was in the second quarter that the Lady Coyotes laid the defense on heavily, handing the Lady Storm a donut on a 14-0 run.
The second half was more of the same for Potter-Dix as the squad outshot and outscored Creek Valley by a 20-7 margin.
The leading scorer for the Lady Coyotes was Trinity Langley with 11 points.
Audrey Juelfs scored a pair of three-point shots for Potter-Dix as well. Samantha Schmid led for Creek Valley with five points, which included a trey late in the game.
On the defensive side of the ball, Payje Misegadis led the Lady Storm with 12 rebounds and two assists.
Cortney Lewis and Alexus Rozelle both led for Potter-Dix with seven rebounds each.
Other scorers for Potter-Dix were: Payge Hoffman (9), Dawson Sharman (8), Juelfs (8), Brooke Glass (7), Rozelle (6), Anna McLaughlin (2), Sierra Wheelock (2) and Lewis (1). Scorers for Creek Valley were: Jaden Criswell (4), Andi Ortgies (4), Madison McFee (2), Taya McMillen (2) and Misegadis (1).
The loss drops Creek Valley to 2-2 overall.
Next up for the Lady Storm is a Dec. 18 battle with Sedgwick County. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
Potter-Dix 49, Paxton 27
Sharman was on fire for the Lady Coyotes on Saturday as they beat up on Paxton and took a 49-27 road victory.
Sharman, a junior, put up 18 points in the win, with three three-pointers making it from beyond the arc. She also went 5-of-8 from the line.
Defensively, Lewis grabbed a total of nine rebounds and snagged a steal as well. Langley led in steals with six.
Other scorers were: Juelfs (8), Rozelle (6), Langley (6), McLaughlin (4), Lewis (4) and Hoffman (3).
The Lady Coyotes will play tomorrow at Leyton starting at 5 p.m.
