Cheyenne County 4-H members, volunteers and families recently celebrated their accomplishments from the past year at the annual awards banquet at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.
The following are the awards presented for 2015. These awards are given based on the completion of the career portfolio and project records.
Outstanding 4-Hers for 2015 were Kaitlyn Higgins and Dominic Beyer. This award is presented to high school seniors who have excelled in their involvement in the Cheyenne County 4-H program. Selection is based on participation in 4-H activities. Higgins is the daughter of Rob and Leann Higgins of Dalton. Beyer is the son Mike and Melinda Beyer of Sidney.
Seth McMillen, son of Robb and Chel McMillen, received the Chad Nienhueser Memorial 4-H Scholarship. The scholarship encourages recipients to explore learning opportunities outside Cheyenne County.
Caitlyn Deal and Seth Millen received the William Danforth "I Dare You" Leadership award for service and leadership to the 4-H program. It is awarded on behalf of the American Youth Foundation to juniors or seniors who strive to achieve their personal best and make a positive difference in their community.
Cabela's was recognized as this year's recipient of the Friend of 4-H award. This award recognizes individuals or businesses for their support of the 4-H program. For several years, various departments within corporate Cabela's have volunteered their time, energy, and financial resources to 4-H programming in Cheyenne County.
