For the Creek Valley Storm’s season opener against Hyannis last Friday, it was Brett Godfrey’s lot to carry his team for most of the game; the 6-foot-2-inch junior guard led by shooting 10-of-18 from the floor and scoring a team-high 25 points in the 64-37 win over the Longhorns.
Godfrey also went 3-of-4 from the line and earned six rebounds, three assists and 10 steals.
Storm senior Keith Everitt was also in double digits with 10 points, while adding a game-high 11 rebounds and swiping a steal from Hyannis.
After a loss to Maxwell on Saturday, Creek Valley now sports a 1-1 overall record on the season.
The Storm will face Potter-Dix on the road this Friday.

Creek Valley 31, Maxwell 22
After stumbling in the season opener against Hyannis, 45-25, the Lady Storm came back in a big way to beat Maxwell, 31-22, on the road.
The win over Maxwell gives the Lady Storm a 1-1 record overall.
It was close in the early going as Creek Valley only led 14-12 at the halftime break – though the Lady Storm would indeed storm the boards in the third period, outscoring the Lady Wildcats, 17-10 in the quarter.
The defenses of both teams erupted in the fourth period as no player from either team was able to score.
Samantha Schmid led all scorers with 16 points off seven deuces and a pair of free-throws.
Other scorers were: Jessie Straber (6), Payje Misegadis (4), Jaden Criswell (3) and Joey Straber (2).
Defensively, Jessie Straber led her team with 12 rebounds and five steals.
The Lady Storm will also face Potter-Dix on the road this Friday.
