Matthew M. Lenzen, 62, a Sidney native, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, in Lincoln. Matt resided in Broomfield, Colo., and was a dispatcher for Denver Intermodal Express.
Matt's passing followed just 10 days after the death of his father, Jerome Lenzen of Sidney.
Matt was born Jan. 13, 1953, to dad Jerome and mom Marian Lenzen. He grew up on the family farm and attended District 97 rural school and St. Patrick's Catholic school before graduating from Sidney High in 1971. He then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1975. Matt's prior employers included Burlington Northern Railroad and Safeway.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by children Ashley Lenzen of Brighton, Colo., and Zach Lenzen of Broomfield, Colo. He is also survived by siblings Nick Lenzen (Kathleen), Bob Lenzen (Terri), Steve Lenzen (Karen) and Patty Hammond (Kevin), all of Lincoln; Kathy Labbe (Carl) of Mesa, Ariz.; and Amy Burt (Randy) of Richardson, TX.
