Friday, Oct. 23

Cool Kids Club/ No Limits will be holding an All-Day Event on Friday, Oct. 23 when school is not in session. This will be held at North Elementary from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. for school-age students. Lunch and a snack will be provided. There will be a charge. Registrations for those NOT already in CKC/NL can be picked up and dropped off at any of the elementary offices and the Cheyenne County Community Center. The theme is going to be “energy,” and a focus will be on alternative sources. Contact Coleen Langdon (308) 249-6572 for any questions.

Saturday, Oct. 24

5th Annual Sunol Halloween Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the old Sunol School. The festival will include games, a costume contest and a haunted house! Food will be served from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come have some Halloween fun!

Cool Kids Club/ No Limits, 4-H and the Cheyenne County Community Center will again be hosting the annual Hay Day Festival for families on Oct. 24 at the Cheyenne County Fair Grounds from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A costume contest will be held with prizes. Activities include face painting, cookie decorating, cake walk, carnival booths, and more. There will be free refreshments and door prizes. There is no cost for the event but a free will donation will be accepted. Contact Coleen Langdon (308) 249-6572 for any questions.

Sunday, Oct. 25

A German dinner will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Weyerts (located 13 miles east of Gurley on Co. Rd. 46 or 12 miles north of Hwy. 30 on Co. Rd. 139). Free-will donation. Join us for fresh bratwursts, sauerkraut, ham, potatoes and homemade desserts.

Senior Citizen and Friends will have their Halloween Dance at the Cheyenne County Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Come in costume! Music by Country Rounders.

Tuesday, Oct. 27

The Sidney Public Library will again be offering the “Together is Fun!” program on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. This session is for youth K - 6th grade and will feature seasonal craft or games. For more information, please call the library at (308) 254-3110.

The Jitney Supper will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sidney High School Cafeteria.

Friday, Oct. 30

City sponsored Trunk or Treat at Hickory Square will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. This event is open to businesses, organizations, and individuals to participate. Pre-register by Wednesday, Oct. 21 by contacting Kim Phillips or Lori Borchert at (308) 254-5300 or for more information. Participants need to prepare for approximately 300 to 500 children.

Sunday, Nov. 1

St. Patrick’s Parish Autumn Festival will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at 1039 14th Avenue. There will be a turkey dinner, silent auction, children’s games, country store, bingo and cakewalk. A raffle will be held with a grand prize of $500 cash, a leather office chair, a $250 Sonny’s Gift Cert., a Cabela’s 3-piece luggage set and a gas grill. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase. Need not be present to win. Drawings will take place at 1:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Monday, Nov. 2

Halloween Candy Buyback

2015 will be held on Monday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at LifeSmiles of Sidney, 1040 Old Post Road, (308) 254-7171. Trade your Halloween candy for Money and Fabulous prizes!!! Open to kids age 2-12. Candy must be new and in its original packaging. Pay is $1 per pound, up to five pounds. Candy will be donated to the troops through Operation Gratitude.
