People with Medicare can learn about Part D drug coverage and find out how to reduce their own costs at a presentation about comparing plans for 2015.
Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program is sponsoring “Choose the Right Medicare Drug Plan” on Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Sidney Public Library.
The event is open to people with Medicare, their caregivers and health care professionals. Appointments are required and there is no charge to attend.
The presentation will be given by Caryn Long, Hesper Gentry and Brienna Bruce from the Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program, or SHIIP, part of a national network funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. That group offers unbiased counseling and information about Medicare and related health insurance. SHIIP does not sell or promote any insurance products.
“Every year, Part D plans can change prices, the drugs they cover, even the pharmacies where you get the biggest discount,” Long said. “That means that the best plan for you this year may not be the best plan for you next year.
“It’s important for people to compare Medicare drug plans every year,” Long added. “This workshop helps people with Medicare find out how to get the best coverage and lowest prices for the drugs they take.”
