Geneva A. Lubash, 91, a longtime Sidney resident, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 20, 2015 in Scottsbluff.
Mass services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24. Wake services will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23. Both services will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney with Father Marty Egging officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. A memorial is being established, contributions may be made in Geneva's name in care of the family for future designation. Geneva Agnes Lubash, the daughter of Gerhard and Nellie Aleida (Rieken) Egging was born on June 23, 1924 on the family farm east of Gurley. She attended country school and graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in 1943. On June 4, 1947, Geneva was united in marriage to Hubert Anton Lubash in Sidney. Geneva raised her sons and followed them through all of their sporting activities and kept up with their lives. She later cared for her sisters, her neighbor and her husband.
She liked to sew, read books and journal on calendars and notebooks of the day's happenings.
Survivors include her sons: Vern (Cheryl) Lubash of Alliance, Jerry Lubash of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy (Margaret) Lubash of Centennial, Colo., Pat (Linda) Lubash of Long Beach, Calif., Tom (Frann) Lubash of Sidney and Victor (Cheryl) Lubash of Lewisville, TX; (9) grandchildren, (8) great-grandchildren; (1) brother: Lawrence (Carolee) Egging of Sidney and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Herb, (6) sisters, (4) brothers, (1) son: Kenneth and a daughter-in-law: Helen.
