The Sidney High golf team continued its strong play on Saturday as it adorned three more medalists on its way to a runner-up finish at the Scottsbluff Invite on Saturday.
The Raiders’ top four scorers combined for 388 strokes over the 5,467-yard par 72 Scotts Bluff Country Club. The Raiders’ district-rival Scottsbluff Bearcats took the top prize on their home course with a 352 total, while Gering was third at 412.
The Raiders three medalists were Rachel Blauert, Emma Alexander and Megan Neal.
Blauert’s 89 left her in third place, while Alexander wound up in fifth with a 93. Neal’s 96 earned her the seventh-place medal. The Bearcats swept the top two placings with Shelby Poynter earning her first gold medal with an 82 while Hannah Holloway scored and 84.
Taylor Parsons (110) and Tiara Ginther (114) completed the Raiders’ varsity scores.
The Raiders also earned a medal in the junior varsity competition. Freshman Paige Langley finished in fifth place with a 106.
The Raiders will travel to Ogallala on Monday for a 9 a.m. start. On Saturday, the road takes the Lady Raiders to Alliance for another 9 a.m. tee time.
