While the traffic and construction may be a headache with the growth of Sidney and surrounding areas, one good side effect is a lower tax levy required by the South Platte Natural Resources District to fulfill its budget needs.
For the third straight year the final tax levy is lower than the previous year, this year down 9.59 percent to .051335 per $100 of actual valuation. This means that the owner of a house that is valued for tax purposes at $100,000 would pay $51.34 in annual taxes to the SPNRD.
