Dalton Prairie Sooner Museum open Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. for the rest of the summer.

The Farmer’s Market is held on Saturdays through Oct. 10

at Hickory Street Square in Sidney from 8 -11 a.m.

The Bridge Marathon will begin playing again in September. Each pair plays once a month with different opponent and keeps a cumulative score through May. There is a fee to play which is donated to the Office for Mentally Retarded for their projects. If you would like to play, call Lynn Poppen at (308) 254-0704 or Kathy Mattoon (308) 254-6148. Wed.-Thurs., Sept. 9 & 10

The Sidney Public Library will again be offering Toddler Tales and Storytime beginning in September. Toddler Tales will begin Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10:15 a.m. for children ages 2 and 3. Storytime for children ages 4 and 5 will begin Thursday, Sept. 10 also at 10:15 a.m. Both sessions feature story, finger plays and giggles! Friday, Sept. 11

The Sidney Teammates Mentoring Program and Security First Bank and Insurance would like to invite everyone to join them, Friday Sept. 11th starting at 5:30 p.m. in the area south of the High School Parking lot, for a pre-game Tailgate Barbeque. This will be a free will offering with all proceeds benefiting our Local Sidney Teammates Chapter. In the event of bad weather, the barbeque will be held in the High School commons area. The Sidney Red Raider’s first home football game against The Hasting Tigers will follow; kick off set for 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 12

Girl Scout Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at the Legion Park Shelter House. Registration is available for individuals or families - there will be a registration fee. The runs include a 5K Run and a 2K Family Obstacle Run. The first 200 registrants get a free Fun Run event water bottle. A public hearing about proposed changes to the SPNRD Districtwide Ground Water Management Area Rules and Regulations will be held Sept. 15. An information session will begin at 5 p.m. with the public hearing following at about 6:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds in Sidney. The day will include hands-on skill stations and a presentation by the Nebraska State Patrol on crash dynamics, distracted driving and EMS on-scene safety. The third annual “Newcomers Social” will be held Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Sidney High School cafeteria. All are welcome, but new residents to Cheyenne County over the past 24 months have the chance to win a smoker/grill. A grilled cheese making contest will also be held again this year. Fri.-Sun., Oct. 2-4

The annual Oktoberfest festivities will be held in Sidney over the weekend of Oct. 2-4. There is continuous free entertainment in the tent at the Cheyenne Fairgrounds, a beer garden, ethnic food, craft show, downtown parade, farmer’s market, live dance bands Friday and Saturday, a car show and wiener dog races.
