Area residents will have an opportunity to hear a piano recital by Donica Enevoldsen this Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Harry McNees Auditorium at Kimball High School.
Enevoldsen was one of only four students to be selected by the University of Nebraska Hixon Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts music faculty as a Nebraska Young Artist of the Year in Piano for 2014.
She has been teaching six piano students since 2013. In 2011, she started dual enrollment at WNCC, graduating high school in December 2014. She has continued taking classes from WNCC and will transfer to Chadron State College this fall as a scholarship student, majoring in piano performance.
The recital will include works of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Dvorak, Grieg, Khachaturian and Weber. Performing piano duets with Enevoldsen will be: Talia Enevoldsen, a 2012 Nebraska Young Artist of the Year and currently a scholarship student majoring in piano performance at Chadron State College; Erika Revord, a scholarship piano performance major at Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss.; and Rose Nelson, a 2015 Nebraska Young Artist of the Year.
Enevoldsen is the daughter of Hal and Lynn Enevoldsen of Potter and has been home-schooled. She has studied piano since the age of 7 with Patricia Randolph.
