Court Briefs 06-15-15

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County District Court on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Clinton Tscharner, age 41 of Kimball, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a class IV felony. He pleaded guilty to attempted possession of methamphetamine and DUI-D, a class I and W misdemeanor, respectively. He received 24 months probation.

Gary Vannatter Jr, age 28 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a playground, a class II felony. Status hearing has been continued to July 6.

Leif Schleiker, age 28 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of distribution of marijuana, a class III Felony. Status hearing continued to July 3 at 9 a.m.

Julian Salinas, age 21 of Sidney, appeared for sentencing on a charge of attempted possession of methamphetamine, a class I misdemeanor. He received six days in jail and 24 months probation.

Chance Harmon, age 19 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of distribution of marijuana, a class III felony. He pleaded not guilty and a status hearing has been scheduled for July 1 at 10 a.m.

Jacquelyn Lane, age 32 of Potter, appeared for arraignment on a charge of DUI 4th High Test, a class III felony.

Joshua Curry, age 28 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a class IV felony. Status hearing set for July 14 at 9:30 a.m.

Mylssa Pennington, age 21 formerly of Lodgepole, appeared for arraignment on a charge of manufacturing marijuana and mushrooms and possession of marijuana and mushrooms, both with intent, all class III felonies. Status hearing set for July 1 at 10:30 a.m. Bond reduced to $50,000 with 10 percent allowed.

Anthony Kuhns, age 26 of Kimball, appeared for arraignment on charges of identity theft and criminal impersonation, both class III felonies. The state also prevailed on the defendant’s plea in abatement. Status hearing set for July 1 at 10 a.m.

Leif Schlieker, age 28 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of distribution of marijuana, a class III felony. Status hearing set for July 14 at 10 a.m.

Stanley Russell, age 49 of Chappell, appeared for a status hearing on charges of DUI 4th high test and felony driving on a revoked license, a class III and IV felony; respectively. Pursuant to a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to felony driving on a revoked license. A PSI was ordered. Sentencing set for July 14 at 10:30 a.m.

James Daily, age 35 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a class IV felony. Status hearing set for July 14 at 10 a.m.

Shawn Fromm, age 27 and no town provided, appeared for arraignment on a charge of possession of cyclobenaprine, a class IV felony. Defendant’s attorney made an oral motion to continue arraignment. State did not oppose. Arraignment set for June 19 at 9 a.m.

Paul Lucero, age 39 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of strangulation and domestic assault, a class IV felony and class I misdemeanor; respectively. Status hearing set for Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. Hearing on defendant’s motion for discovery tabled. Statutory discovery ordered.

Johnny Creekpaum, age 43 of Sterling, Colo., appeared for a status hearing on an amended information on a charge of violation of a domestic protection order, a class I misdemeanor. Sentencing set for June 19 at 10 a.m. State or probation to provide criminal history and probation shall provide a DV matrix, if possible.

Daniel Gonzalez, age 38 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a class I misdemeanor. Status set for July 1 at 9:30 a.m. Hearing on defendant’s motion for discovery tabled. Statutory discovery ordered.

Devan Cook, age 22 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a class IV felony. Status hearing set for July 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Brianna Sifuentez, age 19 formerly of Dalton, appeared for sentencing on charges of attempted possession of a forgery device – two counts, both class I misdemeanors. She received 180 days jail with 54 days credit, ordered to pay $235 in court costs and 36 months probation.

Floyd Kettle, age 54 of Sidney, appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of manufacturing of marijuana, a class III felony. He received 18 to 36 months incarceration.

Ryan Glenn, age 22 of Sidney, appeared for status hearing on amended charges of criminal trespassing in the 1st degree, a class I misdemeanor. PSI ordered. Sentencing set for July 14 at 10:30 a.m.

Robert Thurow, age 49 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of 3rd degree sexual assault, a class IIIA felony. Status hearing set for July 1 at 10 a.m.

Tina Sifuentez, age 46 of Dalton, appeared for a status hearing on an amended information for attempted possession of methamphetamine, a class I misdemeanor. Status hearing continued to June 19 at 11 a.m.
