Sidney High School graduate Logan Lewis, who just completed his freshman year at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., was named the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year.
Lewis helped the Diplomats to a third-place finish at the Centennial Conference Championships last month.
Lewis, a four-event medalist at state last season as a senior at Sidney., earned a gold medal for his winning throw in the shot put. He put the shot 50 feet, 11 inches to win the event. Lewis also ran a leg in the bronze-medal winning 4x100-meter relay. For good measure, Lewis also performed well in the discus where he wound up fifth with a toss of 139 feet.
For the Franklin & Marshall mens’ track and field team, it tied their best finish at the conference meet.
