Locals Cody McKay of Leyton High and Jill Behrends of Creek Valley High will represent the local area in the Mid Plains Area All-Star games will be held June 5, at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium in North Platte. The girls game is set to begin at 6 p.m. CDT with the boys game to follow about 7:30.
McKay, the Warriors leading scorer last season, will play for his high school coach Gary Oltmann on the Black Team. The boys’ Gold Team will be coached by Kolby Hamilton of Sandhills-Thetford.
Behrends was Creek Valley’s biggest threat from downtown as she led the Storm with 44 3 pointers made last season. She was also Creek Valley’s second leading scorer behind Jessie Straber.
She will play on the Gold Team which will be coached by Mullen’s Bec Ray. Nathan Stienke of North Platte St. Patricks will coach the Black Team.
