West Elementary honors Presidential Education Award winners

West Elementary School in Sidney recently recognized its Presidential Education Award winners for the 2014-15 sixth-grade class.

Students earn the Gold Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence by maintaining a grade-point average of 3.5 and above for all of their fifth-grade year and for the first semester of their sixth-grade year. Students earn the Silver Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement by being nominated by the staff for showing marked improvement and extraordinary effort in their academic work.

Students receive a congratulatory message from President Obama as well as a certificate and pin.

The Gold Award winners were: Aaron Ambur, Marissa Borchard, Zackary Burke, Damien Campos, Trey Douglas, Arya Eledath, William Gay, Cole Glanz, Charlotte Hartman, Toni Hiett, Morgan Jaggers, Abbie Johnson, Garrett Jones, Joseph Konz, Meghna Krishna, Peyton Lewis, Alexia Miller, Lydia Mitlehner, Delanie Namuth, Ashlee Ringleman, Noah Siler, Ireland Smelley, Jonathan Spachek, Reece Stanley, Karly Sylvester, Elizabeth Weimer, Haley Williamson, Emma Wintholz, Gage Yoder, Jonathan Deaver, Hunter King, John Thomas O’Rourke, Trever Tarrell, Beau Wamsley, Kassidy Reinsch, Gowrav Ghatamaneni, Lainey Hausmann and Olivia Schneider.
