Cresencio S. "Chris" Rocha, 91 of Winchester, Va. and former Sidney resident, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Winchester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 23, with Wake Services, Friday evening at 6 p.m. Both services will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jim Heithoff officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Chris' name to the Diabetes foundation. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. You may view Chris' Book of Memories, leave condolences, photos and stories at http://www.gehrigstittchapel.com.

Cresencio Salas Rocha, the son of Francisco and Lucille (Salas) Rocha was born on May 5, 1924 at Boscoe, TX. He began working at an early age and came to the Bayard as a migrant worker. He later began working at the Sioux Ordinance Depot where he and Nellie raised their family. He retired after many years as an Ammunitions Handler. Following his retirement Chris always stayed busy working numerous jobs including farm hand work.
Chris loved his family and enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.
Survivors include his children: Beatrice Beckman and husband Philip of Julesburg, Colo., Alicia Martinez and husband Frank of Pueblo, Colo., Mary Ochoa and husband Louis of Winchester, Va. and Robert Rocha of Sidney; (1) sister: Josephina Rocha of Alamogordo, N.M .; (13) grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nellie on November 20, 2005; (2) sons: Tom and Richard and (6) siblings.
