Thursday, May 21

Cancer survivor support group meets every third Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. at Dorwart Cancer Care Center. A variety of topics will be discussed and food is provided. Call Leslie at (308) 250-1113 with questions.

Friday, May 22

Pairs-N-Half-A-Pair Square Dance Club will have a Graduation Dance at the IOOF Hall in Gering, from 7 to 9 p.m. with Lucky calling. Pot luck dinner will be at 6 p.m.

Monday, May 25

The American Legion Mintken-Davison Post 301 will hold a Memorial Day service at the Dalton Cemetery on Monday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. The Legion Auxiliary will host a potluck dinner to the public in the basement of the Legion Hall following the services. The public is invited to both occasions. A favorite dish to share is welcome, but not mandatory to attend the potluck. Table service will be provided.

The Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library will again have an open house on Friday, May 25 to honor of all those that have or still do serve our country in the U.S. Armed Forces. It will begin as soon as the program at the cemetery is finished. There will be refreshments and an art show until noon.

Friday, May 29

The Sidney Public Library will kick off the Summer Reading Program on Friday, May 29 at the library, located at 1112 12th Ave. Signups begin at 6:30 p.m., and a family movie will follow at 7 p.m. Bring blankets and low lawn chairs, and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Tuesday, June 2

A Parkinson’s support group for the Western Nebraska area meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 312 W. 16th St., Alliance. Call Dee Brauninger at (308) 763-1254 with questions or email her at [email protected].

Gold Rush 5K at Legion Park

8:05 p.m. - Kid’s 1 Mile Run, 8:15 p.m. - 5k Walkers, 8:30 p.m. 5K Runners, 9:15 p.m. - Awards

The Gold Rush Committee would like to invite you to bring a chair, s’more’s fixings and hot dogs to roast over the camp fire and listen to stories.
