Sterling Police investigate Wal-Mart robbery

STERLING, Colo. – The Sterling (Colo.) Police Department responded to an armed robbery on Wednesday just before 1 p.m. at Wal-Mart located at 1510 W. Main St., Sterling.

An investigation determined that a male approached the pharmacy counter there, showed a handgun and demanding narcotics. The man was provided the narcotics and exited the store. No one was injured as a result of the incident, according to police.

The male is described as being heavy set, approximately 6-foot tall with a light-colored beard. He was wearing a red baseball cap, a light blue checkered long sleeve shirt and dark-colored jeans. He was last seen heading east on foot in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The suspect may also be associated with a dark-colored car.

The Sterling Police Department is continuing its investigation.
