Mary Egging Schadegg celebrated her 100th birthday over the weekend at the Sidney Regional Medical Center with friends and family – many whom traveled from outside the state.
She was born on April 28, 1915, in Wilhelmina, Mo., and is one of 13 children in the family. The family moved to Gurley in 1928. Mary married Ernest Schadegg in August 1940. They supervised St. Patrick's boys' boarding house for several years.
Over the years, Mary worked at McDonalds General Store, Fabric Boutique and Memorial Hospital (now SRMC).
