The improving Creek Valley Storm golf team had its most consistent outing of the season so far as it finished in a tie for sixth in an 11-team meet at the Perkins County Invite on Tuesday.
The Storm finished with a total 393 strokes to finish behind winner Dundy County which easily won the event with 339. The top five included Perkins County (364), North Platte St. Patrick’s (374), Chase County (377) and Sutherland (392).
Creek Valley’s scoring was led by Brett Godfrey and Austin Rowley who scored 92 and 94 respectively. Wyatt McMillen was just a few strokes back with an even 100, while Joe Van Winkle shot 107 and Ben Cabela had a 130.
Meet winner Dundy County was aided by four golfers placing in the top five though the meet was won by Jake Jones of North Platte St. Pat’s with a 79.
The Storm are at Garden County next Tuesday for a 9 a.m. start.
