Mike Kennedy

Mike Kennedy, 44 of Sidney, passed away Tues., April 7, 2015.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tues., April 14 with Wake Services at 6 p.m., Monday evening April 13th. Both services will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jim Heithoff officiating. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday until 4 p.m. to sign Mike's register book and leave condolences for the family.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in care of the family members for a fund being established for Mike's children.

Michael John Kennedy, the son of Michael Robert and Karen Ann (Wieser) Kennedy, was born on May 31, 1970 in Sidney. Mike was an active, adventurous young boy developing the love for hunting, fishing, anything with wheels and spending time with close friends and family. He was an honor student and accomplished athlete in football, basketball and track while attending St. Patrick's Catholic High School, graduating in 1988. Mike attended Wayne State College on a Football Scholarship where he formed many lasting friendship and memories while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine. Mike was a hard worker serving many in various roles before beginning a successful career with the Union Pacific Railroad in 1995. Mike was proud of his service as a peer-elected Union Representative helping his co-workers for three years.

As the eldest grandson, Mike was greeted in the Lord by his grandma and grandpa Kennedy and Wieser.

Left to join Mike another day are his heart, soul and world, his (3) beautiful daughters: Jordan Briann age twenty, Cassie Jo age nineteen and Haley Jo age twelve all of Sidney; his loving father and mother: Mike and Karen Kennedy of Sidney; (1) brother: Brad Kennedy and wife Joyelle and their children, Hannah, Nathan and Mady of Sidney; (1) sister: Jen Witte and husband Tony and their children, Ava, Kyra, Josi and Brice all of Sidney and many aunts, uncle, cousins and an amazing extended family including many, many dedicated friends. Rest easy Mike.
