April 3 and April 5

Easter Week at the Evangelical Free Church of Sidney at 2763 11th Avenue invites you to join us during Easter Week for our special services. There will be a Good Friday Service on April 3rd at 7 p.m. which will include the Lord’s Supper. Easter Sunday services on April 5th are at 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Our Easter Sunday celebrations will include congregation singing with our worship team, special vocal music, video specials, and the message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Saturday, April 4

2015 Dr. Jeff Cook’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 4, with a 10 a.m. fire whistle start. Meet at the following: Ages 0-5, baseball field; ages 6-8, across from Memorial Gardens; ages 9-12, Shelter House.

Tuesday, April 7

The Jr. Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, April 7 at the Sidney Public Library. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and welcomes youth 7th through 12th grade. This organization emphasizes giving back to the community and in doing so we in turn help ourselves. For more information, please call the library at 254-3110 or stop by for a visit. The Compassionate Friends April Meeting will held on Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Points West Bank (420 Glover Road). This is the final meeting for the season and a meal will be provided. Saturday, April 11

The Trinity Riders Motorcycle Ministries Group will hold a free, senior spring brunch on Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cheyenne County Community Center, 627 Toledo St., Sidney. The menu includes quiche, hash browns, fruit salad, mini muffins and chocolate mousse. RSVP with name and number to (308) 254-0247 by Monday, April 6.

Girls Day Out will be held Saturday, April 18. Breakfast will be served from 8-10 a.m., registration takes place 10 a.m.-noon. Goodie bags are filled with items and coupons from participating merchants. Box lunches will be available for purchase. Call the Chamber at (308) 254-5851 with questions.

The Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole will hold a “Jigsaw Puzzle” tournament on Sunday, April 19 from 1-5 p.m. Teams consist of two adults. Registration ends March 23 at 5 p.m.

Friday, April 24

Kindergarten registration for Leyton Public Schools for the 2015-’16 school year will take place Friday, April 24 from 9-11 a.m. Children must turn 5 on or before July 31, 2015. Call (308) 884-2247 to schedule an appointment.

April 16 and 17

A Brain Injury Conference will be held at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney on April 16-17. Persons with a brain injury and/or their caregivers or family members and professionals who serve brain survivors should attend.
