Shirley Mae Dunphy, the daughter of Harvey Matthew and Frances Alleene (McLain) Stitt, was born on July 10, 1929 at Kansas City, Mo. She grew up and attended schools in the area and following High School graduation she began her life's journey in Denver, with a beloved Aunt and Uncle. There she met and married the forever love of her life, Arthur "Lynn" Dunphy on Feb. 18, 1950. They shared their lives for sixty-four years, raising three children with love and wisdom. She was always available for a warm smile, a hug and sage advice for anyone in need. Shirley loved cooking, decorating, reading and "socializing", which was how she referred to working. She worked at Finney's, Foster Lumber and completed her working career with ten years at Wal-Mart, retiring at the age of eighty-four.
