Let's go racin'

Peetz Cub Scout Pack #36 recently held its first "Pinewood Derby" in many years. The event took place in the basement of the local Methodist church on a wooden track that was built in 1958 by then-Cub Scout leaders Don Fehringer and Jacob Elenz. Pictured on the left side of the track, from front to back, are: Matt Gillham, Logan Vallier, Jake Gillham,, Lyle Schumacher and Aaron Bernhardt. On the right side of the track are: Conner Schumacher, James Narjes, Michael Ramos, Brenden Shepard and John Coakley. For their efforts, each scout received a candy bar race car, a pin and authentic Boy Scout microwaveable popcorn.
