Mike Brauer, 60 of Gurley, passed away at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Mike's wish was for cremation to be held. Private family services will take place with private inurnment at a later date. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be at 6 p.m., Friday evening, March 6th at the Gurley Community Hall, all are welcomed to attend and share stories and support Mike's family.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation.
Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Mike's care and funeral arrangements.
Michael Paul Brauer, the son of Paul Herman and Connie (Phillips) Brauer, was born on Dec. 7, 1954 at Sidney and attended the Sidney Public Schools. On Sept. 27, 1986 Mike was united in marriage to Carol Ann Bruns at the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Lodgepole. Mike worked at Progress Rail, Covert-A-Ball, did custom harvesting and enjoyed custom auto bodywork. His hobbies included pitching horseshoes, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Brauer; his children, Bridget Brauer and fiancé Vaughn Russell, and Brandy Randall and husband Tyler; step-children, Julie Bond and husband Tim, Michelle Schmid, Wendy Green and husband Terry; his brothers, Terry Brauer and wife Dustin, and Todd Brauer and wife Linda; sisters, Theresa White and husband Chris, Tammy Tilbury and husband Kelly and Patty Arps and husband Allen; and 10 grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Brauer; father, Paul Brauer; and grandson Zacary Maestas.
