The Nebraska Master Gardener Program is offering classes for those interested in horticulture on Tuesday nights, from Feb. 3 through March 10 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Western Nebraska Community College’s Sidney campus. Class topics include: water wise landscapes, tree pruning, beneficial insects and insect pests, wildlife damage and more. Participants must pre-register for the classes. Tuesday, Feb. 17

The Sidney Public Library will host the “Talks and Treats” Book Club for youth in 7th through 12th grades on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 4:30 p.m. The Jr. Friends will also meet at 5:30 that night. This program puts an emphasis on community involvement. Call the library at 254-3110 with questions.

Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feed - All You Can Eat. Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall, corner of 10th Avenue and Linden on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Annual Shrove Pancake Feed will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall (1011 McCall Street, Lodgepole) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Free will donations will be accepted and proceeds will go to the Tri-County Lutheran Parish Youth.

The Western Nebraska Community College Area Board of Governors will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. in the boardroom on WNCC’s Scottsbluff Campus, 1601 E. 27th St., Scottsbluff.

Friday, Feb. 20

Pairs-N-Half-Pairs Square Dance Club will have a ROUND Dance party at the IOOF Hall in Gering. Carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. Round dance from 7 to 9 p.m. All levels of round dancers are invited to attend the party. Lucky will be calling.

Saturday, Feb. 21

The Sidney Public Library will be hold a class on the art of “Zentangles” on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m.-noon. Local artist Cindi Egging will teach the class for ages 10 and older Call 254-3110 to register, as space is limited.

Caryl Guisinger, the general manager of the Nebraska Food Cooperative, will discuss how to make “local food” connections at an NFC informational meeting on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 4:45-6 p.m. at the Shelter House in Legion Park, 2301 Legion Park Road, Sidney. Grace Gardens Preschool will have it’s Open House on Feb. 25 from 5-7 p.m. Join us to meet the teachers, visit, refreshments. Currently accepting enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year.
