Wacky weather covers the gamut this week
This week's weather has simply been full of surprises.
On Tuesday, you could spot many Sidney High School students sporting shorts when the temperatures topped out at 61 degrees.
Less than 24 hours later, those same students had Wednesday off from school and a snow shovel in their hands. Sidney and surrounding towns got hit with an overnight storm that blanketed the region with anywhere from four to seven inches of snow.
Schools districts in Sidney, Creek Valley, Leyton and Potter-Dix all canceled classes today.
Get a glimpse of the snow now, as it shouldn't be around for long.
High temperatures are expected to reach 52 degrees on Thursday, while the mercury could reach 70 on Friday and Saturday.
Wednesday's snow didn't bring any major problems, according to Sidney Police.
"We've only had one accident and that was on private property," said Sidney Police Maj. Joe Aikens. "It helped a little bit having school out. With this weather, I think people just realized there isn't a real need to be out and around in it."
