The public is invited to the unveiling of the Preliminary Site Plan for the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds project presented by Baker & Associates and Studio 120 Architects on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Blue Rooster Bakery and Café at 938 10th Avenue in Sidney. The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in the Fairgrounds project is encouraged to attend. The next stage is fund raising to support construction and maintenance.

The Western Nebraska Development Network will be meeting in Potter on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bags’ Bar and Restaurant (940 Front St.). The agenda includes presenters from the Potter Historical Foundation and Coyote Caller, along with tours of the Potter Sundry Restaurant and Duckpin Bowling Lanes; with the focus of the meeting on community development and improvements made in Potter. A mini-health fair will be hosted by the Regional West Physicians Clinic-Diabetes Care Center, with help from Western Nebraska Community College nursing students, on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Medical Plaza South meeting room 1202. The mini-fair will be geared toward persons with diabetes and pre-diabetes and will feature interactive booths that focus on the parts of the body affected most by diabetes, including the eyes, feet, nerves, heart, and kidneys. The Crane Trust will hold a volunteer training session on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for people interested in serving as guides for viewing blind tours during the 2015 Spring Crane Migration. It will be held at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center, located on the south side of Interstate 80 at the Alda Exit (#305).
