Send your Christmas wishes to military members in veteran’s hospitals. Visit the Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday (Dec. 8-11 and Dec. 15-18) to sign a card or write a note. Cards, envelopes and postage are provided and they will be mailed on Dec. 20.

Thursday, Dec. 11
The Sidney Youth Choir will perform a concert in the high school’s Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. The middle school and high school choirs will follow with a performance at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 13
A free Christmas Crafts event will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 from 1-3 p.m. at the Sidney Public Library. Children in grades kindergarten-5th are invited to make an ornament. Call 254-3110 to reserve a spot.
A Teen Movie Afternoon will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 from 3-6 p.m. at the Sidney Public Library. The is free and food will be provided.
A Santa’s Secret Elves Workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Sidney Elks Lodge from 9-11 a.m. CHildren ages 5 and older are invited to attend and there is a cost. Sunday, Dec. 14
A Worldwide Candle Lighting event will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Sidney Evangelical Free Church, 2763 11th Ave., Sidney. This marks the 18th anniversary of the event, which is held worldwide on the second Sunday of December in honor of children who have died. For more information, contact Deanna Flamig at 254-4450.
Tuesday, Dec. 16
First- and second-graders from South Elementary School will be singing Christmas carols at Hickory Square on Tuesday, Dec. 16. The 2nd graders will sing at 1:15 p.m., with the 1st graders following at 1:45 p.m.
Saint Patrick’s Rummage House, located at 14th and King Street, will be having Christmas giveaway on Thursday, Dec. 18th from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Sidney 6th-12th grade band concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.
Friday, Dec. 19
Third- and fourth-graders from North Elementary School will be singing Christmas carols at Hickory Square on Friday, Dec. 19 from 12:30-12:45 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 21
Santa Claus will visit the Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library in Lodgepole on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. He will be there for pictures and to hand out treats.
Tuesday, Dec. 23
Angel encounters will be explored at Lifetree Café on Tues., Dec. 23rd at 7 p.m. Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available.
