"It was another good win against a scrappy Banner County team," Potter-Dix assistant Lance Juelfs said.

Leyton 39, Bridgeport 22

The Lady Warriors shot just 31 percent in their season opener Friday, but made enough shots to take down Bridgeport, 39-22.

Leyton converted just eight of its 46 shots during the game and made only 14 of 36 free throws. Junior Natalie Cruise led the Lady Warriors in scoring with nine points.

"We knew going into the game that were playing a great team," Newkirk said. "The fast break was a huge part of their offense and we forced too many passes."

Peetz 26,

Community Christian 18

On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs faced Caliche – the top-ranked 2A school in Colorado – and struggled, losing at home 70-36. Peetz fell to 1-1 on the season.
