Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
Dr. Bronsen Schliep is the newest member of the Webb Orthodontics team. He's a native Nebraskan, growing up on a farm in Fairfield.
Maintaining proper oral health is an important aspect in not only children's lives but adults as well. Schliep wants to implant that advice on children early on.
"When one talks about orthodontics, the first level of importance is oral health care," Schliep said. "We're trying to establish good oral health habits to set children up with a life time of good oral health habits."
"As orthodontists, we always have a couple challenges and issues we might face," he said. "We always want to make sure individuals are always brushing, flossing and maintaining adequate oral health to maintain all of their teeth.
"Lining and straightening teeth can also help bring an individual self confidence for patients who are kind of aware of developmental malocclusion or rotated teeth," he said. "We look to make sure patients' teeth are aligned properly and that they have a beautiful smile."
"He brings with him the latest training in cutting edge techniques and familiarity with the newest technologies that will help provide our patients with exceptional care," said owner Sami Webb. "All our treatment plans will be thoroughly discussed together to ensure treatment consistency and our high standards."
Schliep attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he played basketball for the Huskers. At Nebraska, Schliep met his future wife, Priscilla, who ran track for the university. From 2006-2010, Schliep went to the Nebraska's college of dentistry.
The couple later moved to Canada, where Schliep would earn his Master's Degree and Certificate of Orthodontics from the University of Toronto. His wife, who trained for the Olympics in Canada, went on to receive a bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics in the 100-meter hurdles.
The couple now has two daughters, 3-year-old Nataliya and 1-year-old Jaslene.
Schliep and Webb will commute to the Sidney office every four to six weeks. They are the only two orthodontists who reside and practice orthodontics full-time in the Nebraska Panhandle.
