Leyton wins D2-11 subdistrict title, Potter-Dix also victorious

The Leyton High volleyball team (24-8) defeated Garden Co. (6-19), 3-1 in the D2-11 subdistrict final Tuesday night at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility in Sidney. The Warriors won by scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-20 and 25-18. Leyton will play Crawford (21-5) on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. for a ticket to the Class D2 state tournament in Lincoln.

In D1-12 action Tuesday night in Ogallala, Potter-Dix (17-12) took down Creek Valley (20-6) in four sets, winning by scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-14 and 25-10. The Coyotes will square off against Brady (20-8) Thursday at 5:30 p.m for a state tournament bid.
