Court Brief 11-04-14

The following people appeared in Deuel County District Court on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Matthew Mann, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for status hearings on three cases with charges of Burglary, Violation of a Domestic Protection Order, Terroristic Threats and Stalking. A class III, IV, IV, and IV felony; respectively. He pled no contest to amended charges of Violation of a Domestic Protection Order and Terroristic Threats, both class IV felonies. Judge ordered a Pre-sentence investigation report. Sentencing set for Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

Christopher Gawlick, age 20 of Steamboat Springs, Colo., appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of MJ without Drug Tax Stamps. A class III and IV felony; respectively. He pled guilty to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Hash (x2), Attempted Possession of MJ over 1 pound, Attempted Possession of MJ without Drug Tax Stamps, all class I misdemeanors. He received a $500 fine and five years bench probation.

Jacob Weier, age 20 of Steamboat Springs, Colo., appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of MJ without Drug Tax Stamps. A class III and IV felony; respectively. He pled guilty to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Hash (x2), Attempted Possession of MJ over 1 pound, Attempted Possession of MJ without Drug Tax Stamps, all class I misdemeanors. He received a $500 fine and five years bench probation.

Dennis Smartt-Mead, age 23 of North Platte, Neb., appeared for arraignment on a charge of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Cocaine, a class IC and IV felony; respectively. Status hearing set for Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Linzy Swisher, age 19 of Big Springs, Neb., appeared for arraignment on a charge of Possession of Meth, a class IV Felony. Status hearing set for Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Treavor Kriegel, age 20 of Celina, Ohio, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of MJ with Intent. Both class III felonies. He pled guilty to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of Hash, both class IV felonies. PSI ordered. Sentencing set for Jan. 5 at 2 p.m.

Austin Swartz, age 20 of Celina, Ohio, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of MJ with Intent. Both class III felonies. He pled guilty to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Hash with Intent and Possession of Hash, both class IV felonies. PSI ordered. Sentencing set for Jan. 5 at 2 p.m.
