Bill Garber, 83 of Sidney, passed away Wed. evening, Oct. 22, 2014 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Tues., Oct. 28th in the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.

William Warren "Bill" Garber, the son of Chester Charles and Mable Ione (Chambers) Garber was born on June 23, 1931 at Randolph, IA. He graduated from Randolph High School at the age of seventeen, where he participated in football, basketball, wrestling and baseball. Bill detasseled corn in the summers and helped his father deliver fuel. Following graduation, Bill attended Business School in Omaha before joining the United States Marine Corp and served his country during the Korean War. Following his service Bill attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. On May 5, 1959 Bill was united in marriage to Claudia Diane Hazlewood in Sidney. Bill was a Stock Broker, representing Neidiger Tucker Bruner Inc. and he and Claudia operated Bill and Claudia Garber Accounting and Tax Service for many years.
Survivors include: his wife Claudia of Sidney; his children: Katy Garber and Susan Owens and husband John both of Sidney and Jay Hazlewood and wife Stefani of Elkhorn, Neb .; his grandchildren: Telia Seeley and husband Jeff, Ryan Owens and wife Amber, Diane Owens and Chase Hazlewood; his sister: Joyce Karwath and husband Dick of Bettendorf, IA; his brother: Dick Garber and wife Rose of Windsor, Wis .; sisters-in-law: Carolyn O'Neal of Scottsbluff and Ann Garber of Corydon, IA; brothers-in-law: Tom Hazlewood and wife Diane of Gowen, Mich, Steve Hazlewood and wife Mary of Sidney and Joe Flood of Lynn, Mass. and numerous extended family members and friends and various dogs.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law: James M. and Lois H. Hazlewood, his sister: Shirley Joan Flood, his brother: Keith Garber, brother-in-law: Jay Hazlewood and sister-in-law: Kathryn Ann Buehrer and husband Dale.
