The winners are in for the Cheyenne County Ladies Chamber of Commerce annual Scarecrow Contest. The scarecrows were judged on originality, color, design and construction. All had to contain straw, corn shucks or raffia.
The contest had three divisions – individuals, organizations and businesses. Prizes were $50 for first place, $35 for second and $15 for third in each category.
Above, you'll find the honorees in each of the categories. The scarecrows will be on display through Oct. 20. Most of the entries are fastened to light poles along Illinois Street, with the exception being the Old Settlers' Committee's entry that is located in Lodgepole.
