Dan Carlson, 71 of Potter, died Monday morning, Sept. 29, 2014 at Sidney.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., Oct. 3, 2014 in the Prairie West Church in Potter with the Rev. Betsy Galloway-Carew officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with military rites.
Memorials have been established to the Potter Senior Citizens Center.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m.

Dan Alden Carlson, the son of Fred and Twila Carlson was born April 21, 1943 at Sidney. He grew up on the family farm north of Potter and attended the Potter schools, graduating from Potter High School in 1961. He then attended Parks Business School in Denver for a year before returning to the farm. After his time in the U. S. Air Force he was a plumber and drove truck before adding farming the family farm to his career path.
On July 1, 1977 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Brewer in Torrington, Wyo. They made their home north of Potter before moving east of Potter.
Dan was a member of the Plumber's Union in Cheyenne and the Potter Senior Center where he enjoyed playing cards. He also was active helping with the Table of Grace food pantry.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of Potter; one son Ron Heuck and wife Connie of Rock Springs, Wyo .; four daughters: Roseann Rolph and husband Bill of Tulsa, Okla., Dinneen Pittam and husband Shad of Sidney, Dawn Daniels and husband Lenny of Lodgepole and Kimberly Sylvester and husband Richard of St. Louis, Mo .; four sisters: Rita Sutton of Sidney, Beth Zajonc of Lawton, Okla., Diane Johnson of Liberty and Helen Killham of Potter; 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dick, sister Kai, grandson Raymond Heuck, granddaughter Victoria Daniels and infant twin grandchildren.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Carlson family.
