Karen Sue Elliott, 72 of Sidney, passed away at her home Mon., Aug. 25, 2014.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Tues., Sept. 9th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Hall officiating. Casual dress is requested at the funeral. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Tuesday until 3 p.m. to sign Sue’s register book and drop off condolences.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sue’s name to your favorite animal related cause.

Karen Sue Elliott, the daughter of Earl Edward and Virginia Mae (Saunders) Elliott was born on July 30, 1942 at Scottsbluff. They moved to Sidney in 1951 where her father was employed with the Nebraska State Patrol. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1960. While in High School Sue was a member of the Band, Masque and Gavel, Pep Club and the Pep Band. Following graduation she began a twenty-five year career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. In 1986 she worked for Memorial Hospital for eight years followed by four years employment with Safeway and ten years with Beverly Nursing Home. Sue retired in 2008. She loved dogs and cats, especially Samantha, Cheyenne, Trouble and Missy.
Survivors include best friends Marcia Morrison, Vi Meyer and Jan Lawson of Sidney; cousins: Cindy Ogle and Kay Schuchman of Grand Island, Chuck Ritz of Comstock, Robert Owens of O’Neill, and Mike Owens of Aurora.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Randy.
